Plans have been announced to construct a new plaza at the site of the current Lami market.

Market vendors can expect major developments in the next few months.

Lami Town Council Special Administrator Jasper Singh says that the plaza will also be the new market site.

Singh says this is a 12 months to two year project.

“That whole plaza will have market at the ground floor, shopping complex such as supermarkets, and will have retail outlets which Lami is lacking at the moment.”

Singh says the project is expected to cost around $7 million and they will submit the plan to the government for funding.
