Australian Minister for International Development and the Pacific Steven Ciobo has been busy in Fiji.
On Tuesday, he launched the Fiji Womens’ Fund and yesterday he launched a manual aimed at better health for pregnant women and infants.
“My role is really to be an advocate and a relationship builder in the Pacific and continue to build on the strong foundations that Australia enjoys with a number of countries including Fiji. The relationship with Fiji is an important one.”
This is the Minister’s second trip to Fiji this year and his first under a new ministerial portfolio that for the first time covers the Pacific.
Ciobo plans to visit more countries in the region building relationships as he carries out his duties as the new Minister.
