Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama opened a new mortuary in Ba yesterday that will allow residents in Bukuya to handle their deceased with dignity.
Speaking at the opening, Bainimarama says the burden of transporting people for more than 40 kilometers to a mortuary will now be a thing of the past.
The Mortuary will be used by six villages in the district of Magodro.
The $45,000 project is an investment funded by the Small Grants Scheme of the Prime Minister’s Office.
Meanwhile, villagers also took the opportunity to raise other concerns and requests during a Talanoa session which was held after the official opening.
