New Health centre to facilitate research

June 2, 2012 8:03 pm

The recent launch of the new Health Information centre will assist the development of health policies in Fiji and the Pacific says FNU Acting Vice Chancellor Dr Mahendra Reddy.

The centre was established following the increasing realisation that financing health care needed evidence based research.

“Research helps in ensuring that we use our limited resources for the best possible option. It helps us to obtain the most output while utilising the least input. It helps to provide the best solutions to evolving problems and it helps us to contribute to effective policy making.”

The development of the centre had started back in 2010

The centre is also partnering with the Health Ministry to strengthen the establishment of the National Health Accounts for the development and amendment of health policies in Fiji and the region.
