CWM Hospital in Suva now has state-of-the-art surgical theatres, intensive care unit, a burns unit and some of the newest medical equipment around.

Health Minister Jone Usamate in launching the facilities says this is all in preparation for additional demand on the health sector.

“One of the 2 operating theatre rooms we open today is designed according to international standards specifically for Neurosurgical operations while the second is specifically designed for Orthopaedic operations. The 25 beds Intensive Care Unit has also been designed and equipped to international standards and will not only receive very sick patients from Suva and the Central division but will also be able to provide care to patients referred from the Northern and Western divisions of the country.”
