New developments in the port sector has boosted the Fiji Ports Terminal Limited to get more revenue.
Attorney-General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum says unlike the previous governments, the current government introduced public-private partnership to look at long term plans.
He says new technologies, new human resource management and machinery has positioned Fiji Ports to an advanced level compared to other Pacific Island Countries.
He says shipping companies are now choosing to use our ports.
”Today they are serving us as a premier destination as far as logistics are concerned. We are getting more containers, we have the potential to get more containers. When you have the potential to get more containers it means that the revenue for the company will increase.”
Sayed-Khaiyum also adds the government will continue investing in sectors to take the country forward.
