New Dalo quality manual launched for farmers

In order to provide the quality of dalo being produced and traded for the local and export markets, a new manual has been developed by the Agriculture Ministry.

Launched in the village of Navatukia in Sawani the Fiji Dalo Quality Manual is aimed at assisting growers, buyers and exporters.

The manual also aims to ensure that dalo grown in Fiji is produced, harvested and processed according to good handling standards to maintain its quality.

It will also ensure that dalo produced complies with the biosecurity, quality and other requirements of target export markets.

The manual contains clear and up-to-date information and images on how to grow a premium dalo product and maintain its quality from farm to consumer.

The book includes a detailed description of Fijian dalo varieties for export and local varieties.
