The new Ba hospital will be operational soon.

This was confirmed by Health and Medical Services Minister, Rosy Akbar in Ba over the weekend.

Akbar says work on the new hospital is nearing completion.

She says there is a delay in the opening of the hospital because they want the hospital to be operated by an overseas service provider.

The $30million facility will provide better health care services to close to 140,000 people living in greater Ba, Tavua and Rakiraki area.

Akbar says in the meantime, Ba Mission Hospital in Yalalevu remains operational.
