November 2, 2014 5:32 pm

The Reserve Bank of Fiji will issue a new two-dollar coin today.

In response to public calls regarding the difficulty in differentiating the current one-dollar and the two-dollar coins, the RBF is introducing the new two-dollar coin that is slightly larger and thicker than the existing coins.

The designs on both sides of the coin remain unchanged but have been raised slightly and made more prominent and the edges of the coins have been changed to make them easier to distinguish for the visible impaired.
