Minister for Women and Children Mereseini Vuniwaqa has called on delegates at the COP23 meeting to look beyond climate changes effects when it comes to finding resolutions going forward on national plans.

Vuniwaqa made the comments while launching the Virtual Reality video series that was developed by Fijian youth at the frontline of climate change.

“These vulnerabilities don’t just arise when climate change and disasters upon us but are deeply rooted in development. Together with partners like UNDP, we work to identify the root causes of these risks right from the community perspectives to policymaking level.”
