Around thirty people in the Northern Division were part of the five to 20 year National Development plan Consultations in Labasa yesterday.

The Consultation was held for the private sectors and the Non-Government Organization’s giving them an opportunity to give their ideas on plans for Vanua Levu in the coming years.

According to the participants, they had been waiting for such consultations in the Northern division so that they can inform the government their concerns and plight.

They requested government’s assistance on investing in their farms, better roads in Vuna Taveuni, and other infrastructural need.

So far 730 talanoa sessions, consultations in villages, settlements, towns around the country have been held.

The plans are expected to be released early next year.
