Nawadra elected general secretary

Reverend Tevita Nawadra is the new General Secretary of the Methodist Church of Fiji.

Reverend Nawadra was elected at the church’s Bose Ko Viti or the annual general meeting that is currently underway at the Centenary Church in Suva.

The General Secretary’s seat was vacant since yesterday after Reverend Tuikilakila Waqairatu was elected the new church president.

It was a landslide victory for Reverend Nawadra who got 585 votes out of 816.

Reverend Nawadra thanked the Bose Ko Viti for having faith in him and electing him as the new general secretary.

Reverend Nawadra takes office from 1st January 2013

The Bose Ko Viti will this afternoon elect a new vice president.

The post is currently held by Ratu Peni Volavola.
