The Navua River is rapidly rising with flood waters now likely to come into the town.

Our reporter, Rohit Deo, who is in Navua, says water started rising in the last hour and at this rate there is flooding expected.

He adds people are now fearing for the worst and making arrangements to move to higher ground.

Deo says it is believed the rain water from the mountains is making its way into the river, causing the rapid rise.
