Villagers of Navala in the interior of Ba yesterday had the opportunity to raise issues and make requests directly to the Prime Minister.

Village Headman Abele Ramasei requested if a nursing station and a morgue could be built for the village.

Ramasei says it’s because it takes at least 2 hours to reach Ba Town for the villagers to see a doctor.

Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama says his ministry will look into the request.

Another villager Samisoni Ratu requested if a tower by any mobile companies be built.

Ratu says this is because at the moment they cannot make calls as there is no reception.

Responding to the request, Bainimarama says that they have requested the two mobile companies, however they have the last say as they are both privately owned.

However, Bainimarama says they will continue to try and push for a mobile tower to be built in the area.

Other villagers also requested if they could speak to the Prime Minister privately and make their requests which was allowed.
