The Nausori Town Council will now process all building permits in any development near Nausori and its surrounding areas.

Chief Executive, Akhtar Ali says previously this was taken care of by the Rural Local Authorities.

Now that the Rural Local Authorities has been dissolved, all its functions and responsibilities have been assumed by the Council.

“Effective from 1st August, the Rural Local Authority no longer exist, so all those responsibilities like development control and the application of building permits, approval of building application, all that will now be referred to municipal councils.”

Ali says this is a huge responsibility for Town Council has they will also look after the development in Korovou, Vunidawa, and Nakasi.

The Nausori Town Council provides services to Tailevu, Rewa and Naitasiri provinces.
