People living in Nausori are now taking advantage of daylight and moving to higher grounds.

Looking at the current situation, people are anticipating for the situation to worsen tonight.

Eighteen people were rescued by operation team in Waila feeder road earlier today.

Nemani Vakaudrove, was amongst one of those who was rescued.

Vakaudrove says he does not want to take any risk.

“I was just thinking about the young ones. In the house we have some students who came home for holidays and I was just thinking about them. I am very fortunate that I am able to bring them to dryer grounds.”

63 year-old- Indar Deo Govind says they have been facing the brunt of Mother Nature since Friday.
