Nausori market open for business

The new Nausori market is officially open for business.

The refurbishment, valued in the millions, provides proper parking for shoppers and a huge selection of fresh local produce. There are also mini outlets within the main market area such as Bentleys Fish and Chips, Tea Totoka and more.

A handicraft section allows more space for the ladies to work on their craft and there’s a bigger section for yaqona sellers.

Behind the market complex, a fish market with an array of fish to select from and a special kai market at one end.

Market Vendor Sulueti Tuinidau from Nakelo, Buretu in Tailevu says business is only going to get better.

_"Oh its running very well, we really like it at the moment, I’m selling vegetables and people are coming for this opening and they come and buy all the things from my stall and i really love this market, I really like it’

The new Nausori market has a capacity for 1,200 market vendors compared to the old market that could only cater to 500 vendors.

Operating hours are from 6am to 6pm Monday to Saturday.
