Nausori bus stand to be re-located

November 13, 2012 6:13 pm

The planning phase for relocating the Nausori Bus stand has been completed and relocation will begin early next year.

There’re plans to move the bus stand and market to a new location.

Local Government Minister, Colonel Samuela Saumatua says one of the major reasons for the relocation is Nausori’s growing population.

“Nausori is a major town really. It may be a small town as we might understand because it is small but it is serving the population of Naitasiri, Tailevu and Rewa. It is a growing entity as well.”

Saumatua says the project is long overdue.

“By 2013 we will start seeing the movement of the bus stand, work will begin on the movement of the bus stand and the market and there will be other activities that are projected for the old site.”

Once the market and bus stand are relocated, a huge space will be available for more development.
