Naupoto to apply for Commander's post

November 2, 2015 12:27 am

Acting Republic of the Fiji Military Forces Commander Viliame Naupoto has confirmed he will apply for the Commander’s post when it’s advertised by the Constitutional Offices Commission.

In response to questions from FBC News, Commodore Naupoto only replied that he will give it a go.

Given the extension of his term, as Acting Commander, Naupoto says his main focus remains in the RFMF’s ongoing restructure and finding support for Fiji’s peacekeeping troops as the environment they’re in remains volatile.

He says they’re trying to find partners to bring in armoured vehicles to be able to find better cover for Fijian troops serving overseas where the situation is still unstable.

Commodore Naupoto remains Acting Commander after his term was extended by President Ratu Epeli Nailatikau yesterday based on advice from the Constitutional Offices Commission.
