Soil erosion and flooding will now be a thing of the past for Vunibau villagers in Navua.
This follows the completion of the village river mouth boundary yesterday.
The 408 meter protection works was carried out by Yadra Viti Investments Limited which include clearing and leveling, excavation and compacted soil backfill work.
The Vunibau village boundary is situated just 47 meters from the river bank and its new development will now allow for protection against erosion, vegetation on the newly stabilized river banks and reduction of unwanted deposition in other areas.
The total cost of the development stands at half a million dollars.
