People have been experiencing heavy rain and strong winds since yesterday afternoon until this morning.

Resident Aminiasi Cula says some surrounding vegetation has been destroyed and breadfruits are scattered on the ground.

He says they were awake from mid-night as they observer the impending cyclone.
