Villagers of Cicia Island brace for TC Mona

Villagers of Cicia Island in Lau have been preparing for Tropical Cyclone Mona for the past three days.

This was confirmed to FBC News by villager Cama Tudelai as they continue to monitor the weather reports.

Tuidelai says there are two evacuation centres on the island and it will be activated if the need arises.

With TC Mona forecasted for Lau, Tuidelai says they have started experiencing strong winds but the heavy rain have been continuous for the past two days.

Meanwhile, a strong wind warning has been issued for the Northern Lau Group.
