The National Disaster and Management Office has today stood down its emergency operations.

NDMO will now examine the current weather situation.

Director, Anare Leweniqila says this follows an advisory from the Meteorological Office that TD03F is expected to move away from the group.

However, he adds that two more systems are currently approaching Fiji and they will remain on high alert.

“We have been advised by the Fiji Met Services that we have two tropical depression and disturbances that is moving closer to the Fiji Group so we will activate our divisional and district office probably on Friday. That is to ensure that we keep watch over the holiday that is here for us as we expect these two disturbances to be near the Fiji Waters around this weekend.”

Meanwhile, NDMO officials are visiting flood prone areas this week and advising Fijians on the need to be well prepared.
