Low pressure trough to affect the group from tomorrow

A trough of low pressure which lies slow-moving near Solomon Islands could turn into a depression over the next few days.

The Fiji Meteorological Services says the system containing cloud and showers is expected to affect the group from Sunday.

The low pressure system near the Solomon Islands is expected to move southeast towards the Group.

There’s a risk of flash flooding and flooding of low-lying areas from Monday.

All communities living in flood prone and landslide areas are requested to remain alert in the next few days if the severe weather conditions arrive as predicted for the coming days.
