Heavy rain warning in force for parts of the country

The Fiji Meteorological Services reveals that the potential for Tropical Depression 04F to develop into a tropical cyclone in the next 24 to 48 hours is moderate.

However an active trough of low pressure with associated cloud and rain is moving towards the group from the north.

A heavy rain warning remains in force for Vanua Levu, Taveuni and nearby smaller islands, Eastern half of Viti Levu, Lau and the Lomaiviti Group.

Forecast for Vanua Levu, Vanua Levu, Taveuni and nearby smaller islands, Eastern half of Viti Levu, Lau and the Lomaiviti Group is occasional rain heavy at times and a few thunderstorms.

If the systems further develop, the Fiji meteorological services will issue an alert and warning whenever necessary.
