A heavy rain alert is now in place for most parts of Fiji.

This includes Vanua Levu, Taveuni, nearby smaller islands, the Lomaiviti Group, Yasawa, Kadavu and Eastern half of Viti Levu.

A trough of low pressure lies slow moving over Fiji and it is expected to gradually intensify from tomorrow and continue to linger over the group until next week.
