Flood waters in Labasa recede

The Labasa River

Flood waters around the low lying areas of Labasa have receded.

However there are a lot of debris left behind.


The flood waters recede at Dreketilailai Irish Crossing

From this morning, authorities have started clearing up these debris at bridges, crossings and roads.

The water levels at both the Qawa and Labasa Rivers are decreasing.

They had both reached critical level last night.

The Soasoa flats are still underwater.

The public is urged to steer clear off flooded drains and creeks as well as to be cautious of debris.
