Damaging swell warning now in force for coastal areas

A damaging Swell warning is now in force for the Southern coastal areas.

The Fiji Met Office says this includes the Mamanuca group, Viti Levu, Kadavu, Beqa, Vatulele, Lomaiviti, and the Southern Lau group.

The warning is also in force for waters in the Southwest of Viti Levu, Kadavu passage, Mamanuca Waters, Southern Koro Sea, and Northern Lau waters.

The swell heights tomorrow is expected to be from four to 4.5meters.

Meanwhile, a high-pressure system together with a low-pressure system to the far South of Fiji generates and directs heavy southerly swells towards the Southern and Western parts of the Fiji group.
