Another trough of low pressure approaches Fiji

The Fiji Meteorological Service has forecast that another trough of low pressure is approaching Fiji from the northwest.

The weather office says this low pressure is expected to bring more rain from later tonight.

While a trough of low pressure remains slow moving over the group with associated cloud and rain that continues to affect the northern and eastern parts of the country.

A heavy rain warning remains in force for the eastern and southern half of Viti Levu, Lau and Lomaiviti Group, Vanua Levu, Taveuni and nearby smaller islands.

A heavy rain alert is now in force for Yasawa and Mamanuca group.

Fiji MET advises that heavy falls may lead to flooding of low lying areas.
