Nationwide curfew to be lifted tomorrow morning

The National Disaster Management Office has advised that curfew currently in effect will be lifted from 5.30am tomorrow.

With the lifting of the curfew, all public transportation will also resume services from tomorrow morning.

The permanent secretary for rural and maritime development and national disaster management says all those engaged in essential services are still permitted to travel around the country provided they have access to a travelling pass issued by the Fiji Police Force.

All civil servants are to report to work from tomorrow.

Permanent Secretaries and Heads of Departments have the discretion to monitor and assess the situation with respect to the opening of their respective offices and attendance of staff, depending on the restoration of public utilities.

In exercising the discretion, the Permanent Secretaries and Heads of Departments must ensure that necessary services are made available to all Fijians at the soonest.

All Permanent Secretaries and Heads of Departments must ensure the safety and security of all government premises and personnel.

The Disaster Office will continue to monitor the situation and update the public.
