During the COP23 meeting in Bonn Germany, the Government launched the Nationally Determined Contributions which aimed at reducing carbon emissions.
This was highlighted by Minister for Local Government Parveen Kumar during the launch of the 2018 school energy saver competition.
Kumar says this is an energy sector implementation road map with a five-year and twenty year national development plan.
Kumar says these national frameworks set directions, plans and actions for items that are aligned for the transformation of our economy.
“Our National determined contribution energy sector implementation role aims to reduce our carbon emissions by thirty percent in 2030."
Meanwhile Kumar says we need to educate our people to save and use energy wisely and to adopt and purchase energy efficient technologies and appliance.
