The Fiji Taxi Association says it would like to further discuss the proposal of open base with the Attorney-General, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum.
The Association held its emergency meeting in Nadi yesterday afternoon and President Mohammed Hafiz says majority of its members raised concerns about the proposal.
“For them to explain us how they are going to implement those and what are the terms and conditions that we really want to know in that respect.”
Sayed-Khaiyum talked about on open base system while receiving a report about the Land Transport Industry last week.
The recommendation is that passengers be able to hire taxis of other bases from any location.
Hafiz says members have welcomed other recommendations made in regards to the Land Transport Industry.
