National productivity masterplan for Fiji finalised

The Ministry of Employment has finally been handed Fiji’s National Productivity Masterplan after nine months of work, planning and consultations.

While speaking at the official handing over of the document, Minister for Employment, Parveen Kumar highlighted that the document is timely as it will now be integrated and implemented with the newly announced budget.

“Our National Budget was announced last week, making this even, even more timely and the implementation of this masterplan will dovetail into our national development goals that we benchmark over 5 and 20 year periods.”

Kumar also highlighted that to date Fiji is the only Pacific Island Country that is part of the 19 member Asian Productivity Organisation. (APO)

He also acknowledged the Asian Productivity Organisation for spear heading consultations with the Ministry to put together the National Productivity Masterplan.

The Minister also touched on a number of activities that they are following through this year including the Productivity Awareness Campaign which is geared towards increasing awareness on productivity and quality with all stakeholders.
