National Gallery of Contemporary Arts to open in 2020

The National Gallery of Contemporary Arts aim to ensure local artist don’t lose their potential and have a place to express their artworks.

The National Gallery of Contemporary Arts is expected to open in Suva in 2020.

Speaking at the VIP visual display for the gallery last night, Economy Minister Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum says the project will need a lot of assistance for it develop.

Sayed-Khaiyum says stakeholders need to work together in order to complete the project.

“In the modern Fiji of 21st century we must have this way forward where we have this fusion, we have the recognition of the past, the contemporary art and also the future.”

Meanwhile, three million dollars has been allocated from the 2018/2019 National Budget for the project.
