“We are now at the last phase, we are now preparing documents to be sent to the various ministries for them to be able to decide on the future of the apprentice here in Fiji.”

Fiji Higher Education Commission Director, Linda Aumua says changes in the industry and the education system has prompted the need to review the scheme.

The task force will deliberate more on their recommendations and policy options based on initial findings from the review report before making the final submission to the Education Minister.

The scheme was established in 1963.
