Namosi Copper Rehabilitation work going well

November 26, 2012 12:13 am

The Namosi Joint Venture is involving landowners and the Tikina Namosi Landowners Committee in its rehabilitation of drill sites.

NJV is embarking on a project to replant the drill sites with shrubs and trees and is consulting very closely with the landowners on the type of species to be planted.

According to NJV Country Manager Greg Morris, 65-hectares of forest of the 82 thousand hectares were disturbed by past explorations in the last forty years, before NJV begun with its exploration in 2008.

It has since disturbed 16 hectares of forests.

“In the scale of the whole SPL the exploration related impacts are negligible important to the landowners and we recognize that but in the environmental context they are small”._
