The Naluwai Bridge and the Waima bridge in Naitasiri is currently under water.

This was confirmed to FBC News by the Vunidawa Police Station in the last hour.

Police Officer Joape Kalinisei says heavy rain has stopped but the water level at the Wainimala River continues to rise.

Kalinisei says families at Taivou Settlement near the Naluwai Bridge have been evacuated to the Vunidawa government station.

Police are currently monitoring the situation and advice have been given to the villagers of Nakorovatu to evacuate if flood waters continue to rise.
