The Suva High Court has found 31 year-old Ilaitia Nalawa guilty of rape, assault with intent to commit rape, theft and burglary.

Judge Justice Salesi Temo delivered his ruling this afternoon, concurring with two assessors who found Nalawa guilty on all charges against him.

One assessor found him not guilty.

The five day trial heard that on the 7th of July last year in Nakasi, Nalawa stole some items from a home before he raped the nine-year old girl.

Nalawa will be sentenced Monday at 12pm.

He has been further remanded.
