A man will be produced at a special sitting of the Nasinu Magistrate Court tomorrow, in relation to the rape of a 9 year old girl in Nakasi, Nausori over a fortnight ago.

Sources have told FBC News that police applied for the special sitting so that the suspect could be brought to court.

When contacted a short while ago, Police Chief of intelligence and Investigations ACP Henry Brown said he stands by his statement to FBC News earlier today that no one has been arrested.

Brown says he is aware of the media speculating that a man has been apprehended.

He maintains no one has been arrested and none of his officers are speaking to the media about the case.

Brown says the police will call a press conference if anything concrete comes up in the case.

He says they are abiding by the rules of investigation and they are carrying the investigation professionally and quickly.

Brown did later say he will call a press conference in the next hour.

The student was attacked and raped as she walked home from school.
