The Nakasi to Nausori four lane road project currently underway is expected to be completed by April 2019.
Fiji Roads Authority, Chief Executive, Robert Sen says this development is aimed at easing traffic congestion once completed.
Sen says the current expansion is on schedule.
“We are currently working on the pavement, the utilities for water authority and laying the new pipes and the design works for the pavement system is being completed.”
Sen explains the next stage would be sealing the pavement for safety of commuters.
He says FRA is working on a number of maintenance projects simultaneously, however, there will be no compromise in the quality of work.
This project is an initiative of the Government and is expected to cost around 13.2 million dollars.
