Naitasiri provincial council scoops award

The Naitasiri Provincial Council has scooped an award under the World Health Organization’s Healthy Islands Recognition.

This program enables the communities and countries to demonstrate effective and efficient ways of promoting and protecting the health of their populations.

Minister for Health and Medical Services Rosy Akbar says the council’s submission to WHO focused on utilizing the traditional structures to revitalize the Healthy Island concept at the provincial level.

As I alluded to earlier, it’s a shared responsibility and hopes you will continue to share your success story and thrive in your endeavours to promote the visions of the wealthy island’s program.”

The Naitasiri Provincial Council which has an approximate population of twenty thousand won the best proposal award.
