Nairoso pleads guilty of burglary and theft

Sairusi Nairoso admitted before the court today that he’s guilty of stealing items worth $2647 from the Subrails Furniture shop in Nabua, Suva.

Nairoso who is charged with one count of aggravated burglary and theft appeared before High Court Judge Justice Riyaz Hamza this morning.

It is alleged on January 23rd, Nairoso along with Ledua Tikotala stole two television sets and a generator from the store.

The court heard that on the day of the robbery, between 3.30 and 5.30 in the morning the accused was at the Nabua corner store smoking when Tikotala asked the twenty-five-year old to follow him.

The two went to the store and stole the items and took them a friend’s place in Wailea Settlement in Vatuwaqa.

Nairoso then sold one of the television sets to a couple in the settlement for $50.

He was arrested on the 19th of February and owned up to the crime following which the police recovered the items.

Justice Hamza convicted the man and informed him that the court will allow him to remain on bail as he has previously followed his bail order.

The case will be recalled in court on Friday.
