Naiqamu urges Fijians to protect forests

Forestry Minister Osea Naiqamu is pleading with Suweni Villagers in Cakaudrove for their cooperation in protecting the forests.

Naiqamu says there’s a growing tendency to harvest trees but there was no initiative taken to replant forests.

He says there’s been negative impacts of climate change on the environment and the preservation of our forests, can help fight against this issue.

The minister adds that this is aligned with Government’s vision in ensuring more trees are planted for the benefit of the environment and our future generations.
