Miss Labasa Divisional Hospital Naima Shazmeen last night beat 11 other queen contestants to take out the Miss Friendly North crown 2018.
It was an emotional achievement for the 23-year-old from Korowiri, Labasa who is a pharmacist by profession
Speaking to FBC News after her crowning, Shazmeen says she wasn’t really expecting to win.
“I’m really shocked. I did not expect this. I have so many people to thank for this. This was not myself. This was a team work. All the pharmacy staff, my mum for encouraging me.”
During the weeklong festival, Shazmeen’s advocacy message was, “Antibiotic resistance – our health at risk. Let’s stop it.”
Meanwhile, Miss Northern Civil Service Meima Maeli was the 1st runner up while Miss Sambu Lal Construction Limited Mithali Bishwa and Miss Fiji Sugar Corporation Ateca Ledua scoped the second runner up award.
