June 14, 2018 12:41 am

The murder trial of Marriane Premila Devi who allegedly set her de-facto partner on fire that resulted into his death continues at the Suva High Court.

Devi is charged with one count of murder.

It is alleged she set Bal Krishna Naidu alight on November 17th, 2016 at their home in Sakoca, Suva.

The eighth prosecution witness, Senior Pathologist Daniella John took the stand this morning.

John informed the court that on November 25th, she conducted Naidu’s post-mortem.

She says the results showed that Naidu had sustained extensive external body burns of 2nd and 3rd degree.

John told the court Naidu sustained eighty percent burns which led to his death.

The report was tendered in court as evidence.

The trial continues as Defense counsel will conduct their cross examination.
