Nadroga Navosa suffer $2m damage

Revelations today that the total cost of damages in the Nadroga/Navosa district has hit the $2m mark.

Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama is touring the flood affected areas in the area and FBC i-Taukei desk editor Apisalome Coka, who is also part of this group, files this report:

“Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama has been told that the cost of damages to the agricultural sector here in Sigatoka is $2.9m.

The worst hit is the district of Mavua with estimation of damages at $1.2m.

Mavua district consists of farmers who plant solely for the purpose of exporting
to overseas countries.

The PM started his visit at the Matovo treatment plant which services Sigatoka town, the agriculture office and is expected to visit flood affected areas in Sigatoka before moving inland."
