Nadi water levels rise to top of goal posts

March 30, 2012 4:25 am

In Nadi, Prince Charles Park and surrounding areas are about eight feet under water.

James Speight, who resides behind the park, says the wind has also picked up and most of his neighbours are now on the roofs of their houses.

He adds the water level has reached the top of the goal posts at Prince Charles Park.

Speight says the water levels have been rising for the past three hours and with Nadi River having burst its banks, the situation is worsening.

The residents of the area have yet to receive any help from the authorities and Speight adds that the flooding is worse than January and that experienced three years ago.
