The Nadi Meterology Office will soon be more advanced when it comes to forecasting.
With a $5.7 million assistance package from the government of Japan, Permanent Secretary for Meterology Commander Francis Kean says the assistance will help in enhancing forecasting.
“The radars that we currently have do not have the Doppler capability and from my understanding of this Doppler capability, this will give us and hopefully assist our forecasters because what it will do it will give us the density of liquid in the rainy clouds that are out there, right now and our radars do not have the capability”.
