Three families have been left homeless after a fire destroyed a three-flat wooden and concrete structured house at Kerebula Settlement in Nadi this morning.
Four fire trucks from Nadi and one from Lautoka responded to an emergency call from the settlement.
The fire fighters found the house engulfed in flames upon arrival.
They used deliveries of water to extinguish the fire and stopped it from spreading to the nearby houses in the area.
NFA CEO John O’Connor is reminding members of the community and home owners to be mindful of fire safety all the time.
An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the fire.
