A family of Namotomoto village in Nadi is now homeless after an early morning fire fully destroyed their one bedroom house.

Witness Apo Gade says the fire started around 7am and the family managed to escape without any injuries.

He claims that the fire started from the bedroom.

”My aunty was doing the laundry and all the kids were inside and all of a sudden she could smell something burning in the room and she yelled out for help but we could not contain the fire.”

The witness adds that when the firefighters arrived at the scene, the house was fully engulfed in flames.

The firefighters also managed to contain the fire from spreading to nearby houses.

Investigation into the cause of the fire is underway.
